The Youngstown State men's basketball team went on its first foreign tour in over 15 years from August 8-13 as the Penguins played three games at the Atlantis Resort in Paradise Island, Bahamas. YSU won two of the three games it played in the Bahamas.

Youngstown State 79, Patron Regulators 76
Senior Bobby Hain posted a double-double with 19 points and 20 rebounds and led the Youngstown State men's basketball team to a 79-76 win over the Patron Regulators on Sunday afternoon at the Kendall Isaac Gym.

Along with Hain, four other Penguins scored in double figures, including junior Matt Donlan with a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds, sophomores Cameron Morse and Francisco Santiago each scored 12 points while freshman Jordan Andrews added 10 points.

The Penguins, who led for nearly 38 minutes, shot 37 percent from the field, but held a 57-56 advantage in the rebounding margin and had 14 second-chance points compared to eight for Patron.

The Penguins' bench also outscored Patron, 21-14.

CTG Knights 93, Youngstown State 90
The Youngstown State men's basketball team trailed by 14 with just over two minutes remaining and used a big run to nearly make a spectacular comeback, but fell to the CTG Knights, 93-90, on Monday evening at the Kendall Isaac Gymnasium.

Senior Bobby Hain led the Penguins with his second double-double of the tournament with 21 points and 12 rebounds.

Sophomore Sidney Umude scored 18 points on 9-of-15 shooting from the floor and sophomore Cameron Morse dropped in 15 points. Freshman Jordan Andrews added 10 points.

Traling 89-75 with 2:20 remaining, the Penguins used a 15-4 run to close the gap, but ran out of time.

Hain hit two free-throws and a jumper and Morse added another jumper to trim the deficit to eight, 89-81, with 1:23 left.

After CTG made two free throws to extend the lead back to 10, 91-81, Andrews drained a 3-pointer to get within seven, 91-84, and made a jumper to get within seven for the second time, 93-86, with 27 seconds left.

Morse split a pair of free throws to get the deficit to six, and, after a missed 3-pointer, Andrews picked up a steal and found Morse who banked in a 3-pointer before time expired.

The Penguins shot 48 percent from the field and made seven 3-pointers, but went just 7-of-19 from the free-throw line. CTG shot 47 percent from the field and made nine 3-pointers and went 18-of-28 from the line.

Youngstown State 101, Real Deal Shockers 69
Freshman Jordan Andrews scored 23 points and knocked down seven 3-pointers as the Youngstown State men's basketball team defeated the Real Deal Shockers, 101-69, on Tuesday evening at Kendall Isaacs Gym.

The Penguins, who made 13 3-pointers, finished the BTC Summer of Thunder 2015 with a 2-1 record.

Andrews connected on 8-of-14 from the floor, including 7-of-13 from the 3-point arc, and led four others scoring in double figures.

Junior Brett Frantz scored 17, Sidney Umude had 12 and Bobby Hain and Matt Donlon each added 10. Hain just missed his third straight double-double with nine rebounds.

Francisco Santiago scored six points and dished out 11 assists for the Penguins, who had 31 assists as a team.

For the game, the Penguins shot 44 percent from the field, 45 percent from 3-point range and 76 percent from the free-throw line.
