INDIANAPOLIS -- Valparaiso University junior Angie Porche and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee junior Lauren Felsing have been named the Horizon League's Volleyball Players of the Week for the period of Aug. 25-31.

Porche, a native of Lynwood, Ill., picks up Offensive Player of the Week honors after helping Valparaiso to a 3-0 record during the season's first week. The Crusaders defeated Nevada (25-23, 25-14, 25-11), IPFW (20-25, 27-25, 25-19, 25-20) and Big East foe Notre Dame (22-25, 25-17, 30-28, 25-23) en route to a Shamrock Invitational Championship.

Porche, who also notched Shamrock Invite Most Valuable Player accolades, hammered a Horizon League-high 57 kills and eight service aces over 11 games. She also ranked among HL leaders in hitting percentage, checking in at a .290 clip.

The outside hitter registered three straight double-doubles, including 26 kills and 10 digs against the host Irish on Sunday afternoon. She also moved from eighth to sixth on Valpo's all-time kills chart during the weekend.

Felsing, a native of Hartland, Wis., grabs Defensive Player of the Week honors after helping Milwaukee to an upset of No. 18 Iowa State (25-21, 25-22, 21-25, 23-25, 15-11) -- its first win over a nationally-ranked opponent since 1999.

Felsing collected a Horizon League-best 65 digs over 13 games during the season's first week. She posted 21 digs against Southeastern Conference foe Ole Miss on Friday afternoon and a career-best 29 digs vs. the Cyclones on Friday night.

The libero, who managed 30 percent of her team's digs in week one, helped Milwaukee pace the circuit in both digs (216) and digs per game (16.62).

Both clubs return to action on Friday -- Valparaiso at Indiana and Milwaukee at Bradley.
