The Wright State volleyball team picked up its first Horizon League win of the season Tuesday night with a sweep of Northern Kentucky at the C.J. McLin Gymnasium.  The Raiders won the match 25-21, 27-25, 25-13.

Down 17-14 in the opening set, WSU rallied to take the lead with a 9-1 run, a run that featured two kills each by Megan Hopkins and Marisa Aiello.  NKU closed to within three on two occasions before Hopkins closed out the set with another kill.

The second set, which had 14 ties and five lead changes, saw the Raiders again rally, this time down 24-22.  Kills by Maddie Lohmeier and Katie Klusman along with a Lohmeier service ace put Wright State up one and after the Norse tied it at 25 on a Keely Creamer kill, another Klusman kill and a Northern Kentucky attack error put WSU up 2-0 in the match.

The final set was all Wright State as a 10-3 run broke open a 7-6 edge.  The Raiders hit .361 (17/4/36) in the set compared to .000 (6/6/36) for NKU.

WSU finished with a 46-31 kill advantage in outhitting Northern Kentucky .194-.062.

Klusman posted a double-double of 14 kills and 16 digs for the Raiders while Hopkins also had 14 kills in hitting .333 for the match.  Lohmeier dished out 37 assists and added seven digs, five kills and four block assists while Jessie Thornton recorded 19 digs.
