Ashen Ward, a sophomore guard at Youngstown State, is a Men's Basketball correspondent for the HLN Blog.

One of my favorite parts of being a college athlete is the road trips we take to play at other schools. Right now, I'm riding on a bus with all my coaches and teammates heading to play our second league game of the season. We just played a tough game at Detroit last night and now we're headed to Dayton to play Wright State University. Unfortunately we lost against Detroit but the bright side of this road trip is that we get a chance to redeem ourselves in the game tomorrow night (7 ET). We've been on the highway for about 3 hours now and should be in Dayton soon.

My teammates and I don't really deal well with losing. This bus ride gives us all a chance to reflect and learn from our mistakes, rest our bodies and get ready for our next opponent. Since we lost our past game the bus ride hasn't been nearly as exciting as it usually is for me. Everyone has been pretty quiet. Some of my hardest laughs and best memories have happened on the bus during road trips. There's nothing really special to tell from this trip though because its seems like everyone is sleeping right now except for me, coach Slocum and the bus driver.

So I'm just gonna sit back, turn up the volume on my ipod and wait until the ride is over. The battery in my ipod is getting kind of low though so I don't know what I'm going to do when it dies. Hopefully we win tomorrow so that the ride back to Youngstown will be a little more enjoyable for everyone.
