Detroit and Wright State got their weekends off on the right foot, with each team picking up its first Horizon League road win of the young conference season.  The Titans knocked off Loyola, while the Raiders downed UIC.

Nick Minnerath continued his strong play of late, scoring a game-high 20 points in Detroit's (9-7, 3-1 Horizon) 83-71 win at Loyola (10-6, 1-4 Horizon).  The junior was 8-for-13 from the floor, helping the Titans shoot 53.4 percent for the game.  Ray McCallum added 16 points and six assists for Detroit, while Eli Holman collected his eighth double-double of the season, collecting 14 rebounds to go along with 10 points.

Four players finished in double figures for the Ramblers, led by Geoff McCammon's 18 points.  Terrance Hill added 16, while Walt Gibler and Ben Averkamp chipped in with 15 and 14, respectively.  Outside of the quartet, Loyola received eight points.

Wright State (10-7, 3-1 Horizon) opened a 12-point lead in the first four minutes of their contest at UIC (5-11, 0-4 Horizon), lost the lead early in the second half and then rallied for a 71-63 victory over the Flames.

Vaughn Duggins came alive in the second half, scoring 17 of his game-high 22 points in the game's final 20 minutes, while N'Gai Evans was able to get in the lane to finish with 21 points and six assists.

Down just two at the half, UIC opened the second half on a 9-3 run to go up 44-40, but the Raiders countered with 10-0 burst to take the lead for good.  The Flames closed to within two on three different occasions, including 56-54 with 5:47 to play before a Troy Tabler three and a Duggins layup made it 63-56 at the 2:28 mark. UIC would get no closer than five the rest of the way as the Raiders hit all six foul shot attempts in the final minute.

Paul Carter picked up his fifth double-double of the year with 13 points and 11 boards for the Flames, while Dipanjot Singh provided a spark off the bench with 13 points.  Brad Birton added 11 for UIC, who will host Detroit on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET in the Horizon League Game of the Week.

Loyola will host Wright State at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday, with HorizonLeague.com carrying the contest live.
