INDIANAPOLIS - Valparaiso University junior Roby Del Giudice has been named Horizon League Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the period of Oct. 12-18. Del Giudice collects Valparaiso's first weekly accolade since the Crusaders joined the League in 2007.
The Toronto, Ontario, native netted a goal and assisted on the game-winner in a victory over League-leading Green Bay this past Saturday. The 3-2, overtime win now gives the Crusaders seven points in the League standings with three teams left to play.
In five conference games, Del Giudice has racked up five points which ties him for seventh among League players.
The Crusaders, who improve to 6-6-1 overall and 2-2-1 in League play, return to action with a non-conference tilt against Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne on Tuesday before traveling to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Saturday.
