INDIANAPOLIS -- Green Bay forward Sarah Eichler has been named the Horizon League women’s basketball Player of the Week, while UIC guard Rachel Story has been named the Newcomer of the Week.

Eichler, a Grafton, Wis. native, scored 52 points in Green Bay’s three games at the Cancun Challenge last week. She poured in a career-high five three-pointers while scoring a career-high 26 points in the Phoenix win over Richmond on Saturday. The senior was 5-of-6 from three-point range in the game against the Spiders. In Green Bay’s win over Missouri, Eichler had 10 points, six rebounds and four assists as she helped lead a defensive effort that held the Tigers to 33 points. She led GB in rebounding in two of their three contests at the Cancun Challenge. Overall at the Cancun Challenge, Eichler had 52 points, 16 rebounds, five assists and three steals.

Story, a Milwaukee, Wis., native, scored a career-high 28 points in UIC’s home loss to Illinois State on Wednesday. The junior guard was 11-of-18 from the field in the game and tied for team-high honors with five assists. She also grabbed six rebounds and had one steal and one block in the contest. Story has now scored at least 17 points in all four UIC games this season as she ranks fourth in the Horizon League with a scoring average of 20.0 points per game.

Top Performers for the Week:
Shareta Brown, Detroit (So., F) - Brown was named to the All-Tournament team at the Radisson Hotel Chatsworth Thanksgiving Tournament after recording 34 points and 23 rebounds in two games. She posted her 13th career double-double with 16 points and a game-high 15 rebounds in UDM’s 80-72 loss to sixth-ranked Penn State. She led the Titans with 18 points against South Alabama.

Angela Rodriguez, Milwaukee(Jr., G) - Rodriguez scored a game-high 19 points to lead Milwaukee to a win over Eastern Kentucky on Sunday. She hit all four of her free throw attempts in the final 30 seconds of the game to seal the win. She had 12 points in UWM’s loss to Georgia Tech on Saturday.

Shalonda Winton, Cleveland State (Sr., F) - Winton posted her fourth-straight double-double with a career-high tying 31 points and 17 rebounds in CSU’s loss to Nevada. She became CSU’s all-time leader in career offensive rebounds with six against Nevada. She had 23 points in the Vikings’ loss to Santa Clara on Saturday and was named to the All-Tournament team of the Nugget Classic.Liz Hornberger, Youngstown State (Jr., G) - Hornberger scored a career-high 18 points - shooting 6-of-8 from three-point range - to help lead the Penguins to a 76-56 win over Miami (OH). Hornberger also had a game-high five assists as YSU improved to 4-0 for the first time since the 1996-97 season.

Simone Law, Loyola (So., F) - Law had 13 points and 14 rebounds - seventh double-double of her career - in Loyola’s win over Northern Kentucky on Wednesday. She had 10 points in LU’s loss to Northwestern on Sunday.

Charae Richardson, Valparaiso (Jr., G) - Richardson had 15 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists combined in Valpo’s two games last week. She had four assists and seven rebounds against Butler and a game-high six in the Crusaders game against fourth-ranked Duke.

Kim Demmings, Wright State(So., G) - Demmings had 17 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals in Wright State’s loss to 16th-ranked Ohio State on Sunday.

Top Newcomers for the Week:
Taylor Johnson, Loyola (Fr., G) - Johnson averaged 11.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in Loyola’s two games last week. She had 17 points in Loyola’s win over Northern Kentucky on Wednesday.

Shar’Rae Davis, Youngstown State(Fr., G) - Davis scored 12 points in just 14 minutes of action to help YSU to a 76-56 win over Miami (OH) on Sunday. She was 4-of-6 from the field, making all four of her two-point field goal attempts and also grabbed three rebounds and passed out two assists in the contest.

Rosanna Reynolds, Detroit (Fr., G) - Reynolds scored in double figures in both of Detroit’s games at the Radisson Hotel Chatsworth Thanksgiving Tournament. She dished out a season-high six assists against Penn State and had 11 points, five rebounds and four assists versus South Alabama.

Ivory James, Wright State (Jr., G) - James had 11 points and eight rebounds in the Raiders’ loss to 16th-ranked Ohio State on Sunday.
