INDIANAPOLIS -- Milwaukee sophomore Jordan Schmidt (Kewaunee, Wis.) and Youngstown State freshman Nina Grambling (Milwaukee, Wis.) have been  named the Horizon League Runners of the Week.

It it the first honor of the outdoor season for either runner.

Schmidt helped lead the Panthers to a dual win over in-city rival Marquette, taking first place on the 110m hurdles at 14.48 seconds, the fourth-fastest time in school history. The sophomore also finished in second place in the 400m hurdles (56.87) and helped Milwaukee to a win in the 4x100m relay (42.53).

Grambling took first place in a field of 15 runners in the 100m dash with a season-best 11.78 seconds at the Northeast Ohio Invitational. She was the only Penguin runner to win an individual event and also led the 4x100m relay team (48.11) to a win.

Both the Panthers and the Penguins return to action this weekend at the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn.
