INDIANAPOLIS -- University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee sophomore Chris Schuenke and senior Abbie Zaspel have been named Horizon League Cross Country Athletes of the Week for the period of Sept. 7-13.
Schuenke finished second out of 64 competitors with an 8K time of 26:41.0 on Saturday at the Huskie Invitational in DeKalb, Ill. Zaspel placed first out of 105 competitors with a 5K clocking of 18:55.0 at the same event.
The Milwaukee men won the six-team competition with 31 points, while the UWM women finished third out of nine squads with 89 points.
Both Panther squads return to the course on Saturday at the Parkside Invitational in Kenosha, Wis.
