INDIANAPOLIS -- Seven Horizon League women's soccer players earned All-Great Lakes Region honors from Soccer Buzz Magazine, the web-based magazine announced Wednesday (Dec. 21).

University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee defender Ginny Graczyk highlighted the list with a first-team selection, with University of Wisconsin-Green Bay midfielder Sarah Oligney and University of Detroit Mercy forward Mary Parker named to the second team. UW-Milwaukee defender Janice McGann took a spot on the third team, while UW-Milwaukee's Sarah Teegarden and Erin Kane earned all-freshman accolades along with Wright State University's Jess Rooma.

Graczyk, a First-Team All-League performer, bolstered the Panther defense which posted a League-record 13 shutouts on the way to a 12-5-5 finish. The sophomore defender also took home NSCAA Women's Soccer All-Great Lakes Region Second-Team honors. UW-Milwaukee captured the League Championship by outlasting Detroit in penalty kicks, and advanced past Purdue University in the first round of the NCAA Championships before falling to cross-town rival Marquette University on a goal in the final minute of regulation.

Oligney earned Horizon League Player of the Year honors for the second time in her career this fall after posting six goals and a League-best ten assists for 22 points. The senior midfielder tied the school record with 29 helpers in her career. The award is one of many this postseason for Oligney, who earned spots on the NSCAA Scholar All-Region (First-Team), the NSCAA Scholar All-America (Second-Team) and the NSCAA All-Great Lakes Region (Third-Team) units.

Parker topped the Horizon League charts with 24 points this season, posting a League-high ten goals (including four match-winners) with four assists. Parker, the 2004 Horizon League Player of the Year, added First-Team All-League honors to her résumé this fall, while pacing the Titans to a 10-4-5 overall mark which featured a 5-1-0 League ledger.

McGann was also an integral part of the Panthers' defense en route to their school-record 13 shutouts . McGann's efforts drew Second-Team All-League honors while her work in the classroom produced a spot on the NSCAA Scholar All-Region Second Team.

Teegarden comes off a freshman year that saw her net five goals, which tied her for the team lead and ranked seventh in the final League charts. The midfielder finished with 11 points on the campaign to earn First-Team All-League distinction.

Rooma gained the League's Newcomer of the Year plaque in addition to her First-Team All-League honor, serving as a stalwart of the Raider defense which ranked second in the League with a 0.65 goals-against average in conference action. She started 18 of the team's 19 matches this season, collecting one assist in her debut campaign.

Kane, also a First-Team All-League honoree, set a school record with 13 shutouts in 2005. Three of those came in the League Championship tournament as she earned MVP honors in the loop summit. The goalkeeper posted a League-best 0.62 goals-against average, which was the 15th-best in the NCAA.

The honors are one of several postseason accolades for Horizon League women's soccer. Six players earned NSCAA All-Great Lakes Region honors, four were named to NSCAA Scholar All-Region teams and Oligney was named to the NSCAA Scholar All-America Second Team.
