INDIANAPOLIS -- Butler's Ben Sippola and Milwaukee's Sarah Hagen each were named as semifinalists for the Missouri Athletic Club's Hermann Trophy, the most prestigious individual honors in college soccer.

Sippola, the 2010 Horizon League Player of the Year, led the Bulldogs to an undefeated regular season and the No. 14 national seed in the NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament, earning MVP honors of the Horizon League Tournament along the way.

The senior controlled the midfield for the Bulldogs, pacing the League in assists (9) while finishing second in points (25).  Sippola’s eight goals tied for third in the Horizon League.

Hagen, who repeated as Horizon League Player of the Year, led Milwaukee to its third straight Horizon League title, setting League career records for points and goals in her junior year.  The Appleton, Wis.-native finished the year with 19 goals, ranking second in the country, while her 2.1 points per game placed fourth among her counterparts.

Head coaches of Division I programs with membership in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) will vote to determine the 2010 MAC Hermann Trophy recipients.  Three finalists apiece on the men's and women's side will be announced on Friday, Dec. 10 and will be invited to the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis for a news conference on Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, when the winners will be announced.  A dinner and formal presentation of the award will follow the news conference that evening.
