Six Horizon League student-athletes were selected in the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft.  Valparaiso's Bo McClendon and Bryce Shafer, Wright State's Aaron Fields and Greg Robinson and Youngstown State's Eric Marzec and Jacke Healey were all taken between rounds 27-49.

Healey was the highest pick among league draftees going in the 27th round to the Houston Astros.  In the 30th round, Marzec was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers.  The two seniors are the first pair of Penguins to be drafted in the same year.

Robinson was taken in the 32nd round by the Arizona Diamondbacks.  The right-handed reliever becomes the second WSU player to be drafted by Arizona as Justin Parker was selected in 2008.  Fields was picked up in the 42nd round by the Cleveland Indians.  This marks the sixth time in the last years that multiple WSU players have been drafted in the same year.

McClendon was taken in the 39th round by the Detroit Tigers while teammate Bryce Shafer was drafted in the 49th round by the Chicago Cubs.  The duo becomes the first Crusaders selected in the MLB draft since 2007.
