Player of the Week

Lindsay Roy, Detroit - DP/P
Senior * Brampton, Ontario
Roy hit .667 in 12 at-bats this week for the Titans. In addition to picking up the win in the circle against Wright State, Roy helped her own cause by blasting her first homer of the season, driving in the game-winning run in the process. On the week she had eight hits including three doubles, a home run and four RBI. Roy posted a .1.167 slugging percentage to back up a .667 on-base percentage.

Pitcher of the Week

Grace Luginbuhl, Cleveland State - RHP
Senior * Lima Ohio
Luginbuhl put together her best week of the season, posting a 4-0 record with a 0.50 ERA. She surrendered just a pair of earned runs and 15 hits in 28.0 innings of work, while striking out 26 and walking just two. On Saturday against Butler, she allowed five hits and two runs while striking out eight. The next day, a sixth-inning, one-out single was the only thing that prevented Luginbuhl from tossing her first career no-hitter versus the Bulldogs.

Butler Bulldogs
- Sophomore first baseman Amy Hyerczyk had her 10-game hitting streak snapped in Saturday's second game against Cleveland State. It was Hyerczyk's second 10-game hitting streak of the season.

- Butler's junior second baseman JoAnna Gonzalez and freshman shortstop Katie Bell returned to the line-up over the weekend at Cleveland State. Gonzalez saw action as the team's designated player, while Bell played the field, but did not bat.

Cleveland State
- Cleveland State put together a perfect 7-0 record last week to improve to 28-9 on the year -- its best mark since the 1997 campaign. The Vikings climbed to within a half-game of League-leading UIC while moving closer to recording just the third 30-win season in school history.

- Seniors Grace Luginbuhl (4-0, 0.50 ERA) and Kortney Spidell (3-0, 0.64 ERA) were almost unhittable last week, allowing just four earned runs in 50.0 innings of work. A big reason for their success was the fact that they walked just three batters in seven games, and none at all during CSU's three-game sweep of Butler.

Detroit Titans
- Sophomore catcher/infielder Kaleigh Rafter set the new Detroit single-season home run record on Sunday with her ninth homer of the season after tying the standard on Tuesday at Michigan State. Her blast off of the Buysse Ballpark scoreboard in right field (the opposite field for the right handed hitting Rafter) broke the old mark of eight held by Tricia Cohoon (1996). This also moves Rafter into the Top-10 all-time in Detroit history.

- Senior right-hander Lindsay Roy got the job done in the circle and at the plate in a 6-1 mid-week League victory over Wright State. Roy went the distance, scattering six hits and struck out five to pick up her fifth win of the season. At the plate she was 3-for-3 with two RBIs.

UIC Flames
- The Flames' offense has been led by senior shortstop Joyce Cathey in '06. Cathey leads the club in batting average (.341), slugging percentage (.533), on-base percentage (.408), runs scored (26), hits (46), extra-base hits (18) and stolen bases (6).

- Freshman Sarah Clynes has been impressive in her rookie season with the Flames. She tossed the first no-hitter by a UIC pitcher since Alison Aguilar blanked Fordham on March 16, 2002, when she tossed a no-no against Detroit on April 8. Clynes is 11-5 on the campaign with team-best marks in ERA (2.87), strikeouts (103) and complete games (6).

Loyola Ramblers
- Loyola pounded out a season-high 14 hits and scored 10 runs in a 10-2 victory over Wright State on Sunday.

- With 25 stolen bases and 33 runs this season, outfielder Tara Miller needs six more steals and five runs to equal the Loyola single-season records in those categories.

UW-Green Bay Phoenix
- After committing two or more errors in six of the team's first nine games of the season, the Phoenix has had two errors or more just twice in its last 15 contests. UW-Green Bay has not committed a single miscue in eight of its 14 Horizon League games and has an impressive .976 fielding percentage in conference play.

- Of senior catcher Kate Sullivan's team-leading 20 RBI this season, 15 have come with two outs in the inning. Sullivan is batting .607 (17-for-28) when coming to the plate with two outs.

Wright State Raiders
- After defeating Youngstown State in the series finale to pick up their first win of the season on April 2, the last three series finales have not been as kind to the Raiders. Wright State has been outscored 19-3 in dropping its last three weekend-closers, including a 10-2 setback in the finale with Loyola Sunday.

- Series openers, though, have been better for WSU, as the Raiders have won the first game in each of the last three weekend series, including a 5-4 decision over Loyola.

Youngstown State
- Senior outfielder Lacy Bronson extended her hitting streak to 11 games with a 2-for-4 performance against Detroit on Sunday. She is batting .455 (15-for-33) during that span and has raised her batting average from .235 to .321.

- Sophomore utility Becky Hibner went 10-for-25 last week with a double, home run, five runs scored and seven runs batted in. Over the last eight games, Hibner is batting .407 (11-for-27) with eight runs batted in.
