Men's Athlete of the Week
Mark Sommerfeld, Detroit
Waterloo, Ontario * Senior
Sommerfeld led the Titans to the team championship of last week's Fort Lauderdale Spring Classic at Grande Oaks Golf Club. He finished third individually with a pair of sub-par rounds on his 68-70--138 score card, two strokes off the winning pace. Sommerfeld has now posted 24 sub-par rounds during his college career.

Women's Athlete of the Week
Mandi Dupuis, Detroit
Tecumseh, Ontario * Senior
Dupuis posted top-10 finishes in both of the Titans outings last week. She finished in the top-10 at the GVSU Invitational with a total score of 153 (77-76). Dupuis then helped lead UDM to its first-ever win over Butler as the senior finished in a tie for seventh (78-77--155) at the North-South Invitational in Jacksonville, Fla. The Titans also competed in a Ryder Cup-style meet against Oakland (Mar. 1) in Naples, Fla., and Dupuis won her match to net three points for UDM.

Men's

Armando Favela, Loyola
Tijuana, Mexico * Junior
The left-handed Favela led Loyola with a 233 (81-79-73) to finish tied for 27th at the Braveheart Classic. Favela battled the windy conditions on day one and shot a respectable 79 in round two as wind gusts reached 50 miles per hour. The junior also tied for 33rd at the Carlton Oaks Invitational with a 235 (79-82-74).

Women's

Katie Rogner, Youngstown State
Warren, Ohio * Freshman
Rogner led YSU in two tournaments to open the spring campaign. The freshman was the top Penguin finisher by 10 strokes and placed fifth overall at the Grand Valley Invitational with a two-round total of 153 (75-78). A week later at the North-South Invitational as an individual, Rogner carded a two-round score of 156 (76-80) to finish tied for 12th. Her first-round score of 76 was second to only eventual winner Kimberly Wong of Bethune-Cookman, who shot 73 twice.

Lauren Oh, Loyola
Pleasanton, Calif. * Freshman
Oh tied for the team low with a 159 (74-85) at the Grand Valley Spring Invite in St. Cloud, Fla., last week. The freshman equaled her low score of the year with a 74 in the opening round on March 6.
