Men's Athlete of the Week
Mark Sommerfeld, Detroit
Waterloo, Ontario * Senior
Sommerfeld made a clutch eight-footer on Tuesday's final hole to force a playoff for the individual crown at the First Market Bank Intercollegiate, then won the medalist's trophy on the first extra hole with a birdie, as he led UDM to second place as a team in the 19-team tournament. He strung together rounds of 68 - sharing the first round lead on Monday - and 69 on Kingsmill Resort's rugged River Course to finish at 5-under. Sommerfeld now has four straight sub-par rounds this spring.

Women's Athlete of the Week
Mallory Wyderka, Cleveland State
Olmsted Falls, Ohio * Junior
Wyderka led the Vikings at the Northern Illinois Snowbird Intercollegiate last week with rounds of 80-77 (157) to finish as CSU's top individual and lead the Vikings to a fourth place showing. Overall, the junior finished seventh in the field.

Rockwall, Texas * Junior
Bond led the Raiders at the GEICO Intercollegiate last week in Savannah, Ga., tying for eighth place with a three-round total of 224. Bond carded his tournament best with a 71 in the second round.

Women's

Katie Broere, Cleveland State
Bracebridge, Ontario * Sophomore
Broere fired a school-record 72 on the final day of the Snowbird Intercollegiate at Pebblecreek G.C. in Tampa, Fla. Her first round score of 86 gave the sophomore a 158 total for the tournament, which placed her eighth overall in the field.
