INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Loyola junior Armando Favela was selected Horizon League Male Athlete of the Week and Youngstown State freshman Katie Rogner earned Female Athlete of the Week. Both golfers received the weekly golf honors for the first time this spring.

Male Athlete of the Week
Armando Favela, Loyola
Jr. * Tijuana, Mexico
Favela was Loyola's top golfer at both meets last week. The LU junior opened the week with an 11th-place at the Fighting Illini Spring Invitational, posting a two-day total of 154 (78-76). Favela then earned medalist honors at the Caputo Invitational with a 54-hole score of 220 (71-77-72).

Female Athlete of the Week
Katie Rogner, Youngstown State
Fr. * Warren, Ohio
Rogner received medalist honors for the first time in her collegiate career at the Caputo Invitational on Tuesday. The YSU freshman had two rounds of 76 to finish with a tournament total of 152. Rogner had two second-place finishes and was in the top 10 on six occasions before earning her first career victory.

Other Men's Top Performances
Garrett Gosh, Green Bay
Sr. * Pewaukee, Wis.
Gosh was Green Bay's top finisher on Tuesday at the Caputo Invitational with a three-round total of 10-over-par 226.

Mark Sommerfeld, Detroit
Sr. * Waterloo, Ontario
Sommerfeld tied for 20th at the Fighting Illini Invitational on Sunday. The UDM senior shared the team lead with sophomore David Byrne (156). Sommerfeld shot a final-round 75, which was the lowest 18-hole score for a Detroit individual in the tournament.

Other Women's Top Performances
Paige McCracken, Butler
Sr. * Pittsboro, Ind.
McCracken captured medalist honors and helped lead Butler to a sixth-place finish at the Cardinal Classic on Monday. The Butler senior shot a five-over-par 76 in the opening round of the tournament. She then closed out the event with a one-over-par 72 in the final round. McCracken final round was the second-best 18-hole score of the tournament.

Ashley Hamilton, Detroit
So. * Lake Orion, Mich.
Hamilton was the Titans' top finisher as she posted a two-day total of 162 to place third at the Caputo Invitational on Tuesday. Hamilton's third-place finish was the 14th top 10 finish in her career.

Ellyn Hansen, Green Bay
Fr. * Milton, Wis.
Hansen was the top finisher in the Caputo Invitational on Tuesday as she placed 19th with a score of 173. The Green Bay freshman led the Phoenix with a 86.5 scoring average for the week.

Lucy McGovern, Loyola
So. * Escondido, Calif.
McGovern helped Loyola to a second-place team finish at the Caputo Invitational on Tuesday. The sophomore fired a five-over-par 77 in round one before carding an 80 in round two to finish second overall. McGovern has posted three top-ten finishes this season and is the team leader with an 80.2 average.
