Clutch Free Throws Lifts Detroit to Fourth-Straight Victory
Sophomore forward Brianne Cohen hit two free throws with 3.0 seconds remaining to lift the University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team to a 64-63 victory Wednesday over IPFW at Calihan Hall. The Titans finished the homestand 4-0 with their fourth-straight victory and have their longest win streak since the 2012-13 season. Read more
Fourth Quarter Production Earns Green Bay Victory at Butler
The Green Bay women’s basketball team took the court at the Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind., this evening for a matchup with Butler. The Phoenix battled the former Horizon League foe, who is now a member of the Big East, and used an offensive spark in the fourth quarter to defeat the Bulldogs, 55-46, and improve to 5-2 on the year. Akron Slides Past Crusaders Wednesday Night
The Valpo women's best whistle-to-whistle effort of the season went for naught Wednesday night at the Athletics-Recreation Center as Akron pulled away late for an 85-74 win.
Sophomore Jasmyn Walker (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores) spearheaded the Crusaders with 17 points and six rebounds. Freshman Meredith Hamlet (McBain, Mich./McBain) amended her season watermark in points with 14, thanks in part to three treys. Read more
