Day Three Results

The Wright State University men kept their lead after the third day of competition at the 2007 Horizon League Swimming and Diving Championships, but the UW-Green Bay women found themselves in front of the pack after trailing earlier on.  On the men's side, Wright State is slightly ahead of Cleveland State 532-510.5.  UW-Milwaukee currently stands at 388, followed by UW-Green Bay with 341, UIC at 331.5 and Butler with 180 points.

 

The UW-Green Bay women have a slight edge over UW-Milwaukee 601-584.5.  Wright State, who led after the first two days of competition, sits at third with 553.5, followed by UIC with 351.  Youngstown State and Cleveland State are tied for fifth with 166.5 points, while Butler rounds out the group with 111.

 

Wright State's Micah Belew, Nathan Demchuk and Will Ehresman helped junior Scott Lang to his third title of the 2007 League meet by claiming victory in the 800 Free Relay, with a time of 6:44.55.  Ehresman also added an individual title of his own by taking the 200 Free in 1:40.03.

 

Cleveland State freshman Jakub Dobies won the 100 Breast in a time of :53.77, which not only broke the Horizon League Championship and All-Time record, but also made the NCAA "B" qualifying mark.

 

UW-Green Bay's 800 Free Relay team of Kristin Carlson, Dana Doute, Molly Cox and Laurel Yelton set a new Horizon League Championship and All-Time record after posting a time of 7:35.27.

 

Defending Athlete of the Year, UW-Milwaukee's Lindsay Caldwell, also claimed her third title of the 2007 League Championships by taking the 200 Free in a time of 1:52.34.  Molly Finn defended her title in the 400 IM after touching the wall in 4:30.14.  Shannon Berndt also boosted the Panthers' point total with a strong performance in the 100 Breast, setting a new Horizon League Championship and All-Time record with a time of 1:03.81.
