Day Two Results

Both the Wright State University men and women held on to their leads on day two of the 2007 Horizon League Swimming & Diving Championships. On the women's side, the Raiders lead the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee 324.5 to 313.5. The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay sits in third with 294 points, followed by UIC at 210, Cleveland State University and Youngstown State University tied at 97 and Butler University at 55 points.

The Raider men sit in first-place, ahead of defending champion Cleveland State by only 32.5 points. UIC sits in third with 226.5, followed by UW-Milwaukee at 210, UW-Green Bay at 191 and Butler at 121.

Juniors Scott Lang and Mabel Fernandez contributed significantly to the Raider leads on day two. Lang picked up his second title of the 2007 League meet, winning the 500 free with a time of 4:29.34, while Fernandez took the crown on the women's side, touching the wall in 5:01.34.

The awards ceremonies for both 50 freestyle events featured two very familiar faces, as both 2006 champions defended their crowns. UIC's Blake Booher won his third consecutive title with a time of 20:32, while Horizon League record-holder Lindsay Caldwell of UW-Milwaukee eclipsed the NCAA "B" qualifying mark with a time of 23.37. Caldwell was also a member of the winning 400 Medley Relay team, joining with teammates Tina Hansen, Molly Finn and Shannon Berndt to post a time of 3:51.89.

On the men's side, Cleveland State extended its string of titles in the 400 Medley Relay by picking up a fourth consecutive victory. The team of Nedim Nisic, Jakub Dobies, Johan Norling and Marko Milenkovic touched the wall only nine-hundreths of a second ahead of second-place Wright State.

In the evening's only diving event, Cleveland State's Chris Dalman won his second straight Horizon League title on the 1-meter board, totaling 341.85 points, more than 40 points ahead of UIC's Mark Pappalardo in second place at 301.10.
