MALE SWIMMER OF THE WEEK

Thompson helped the Raiders to their second-straight victory against Xavier by winning two events in record-setting fashion. He won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 49.84 and the 200-yard butterfly in 1:50.63 before swimming on the winning 200-yard freestyle relay. He currently leads the League in both butterfly events.

Giczewski broke two school records in the final home meet of her career on Saturday (Jan. 26) against League foe Valparaiso. She started the meet by winning the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:54.69, and then took more time off of her own 100-yard freestyle record with a mark of 51.91. She also led off the victorious 200-yard freestyle relay.

Oleynik swept the diving events against Valparaiso last weekend, winning the one-meter event with a score of 265.30, and the three-meter board with a score of 268.40.

Helland had three wins in four events last week, taking the three-meter against both Illinois State (252.98) and Western Illinois (238.80), and also posted the winning score in the one-meter against ISU (253.65). She placed second in the one-meter event against Western Illinois behind teammate Lauren McGraw.

Baiko won the three-meter with a score of 311.70, and was runner-up in the one-meter event (248.50).

Deni Gasparin

Fr., Zagreb, Croatia

Gasparin won the 100-yard breaststroke by eight seconds (56.82) and the 200-yard freestyle by three seconds (1:44.84) in CSU's win over Niagara.

Brandon Kuntz
Green Bay
Jr., Pulaski, Wis.

Kuntz placed third in the one-meter competition with a season-high score of 275.70. He also posted a fifth-place finish in the three-meter event (205.50).

Travis Mathers

Mathers had two individual wins and a relay victory against Western Illinois. He won the 200-yard freestyle (1:45.60) and the 100-yard backstroke (55.40) after leading off the winning 200-yard medley relay that posted a time of 1:37.54.

Chase Gravengood

Sr., Oconomowoc, Wis.

Gravengood won both of his individual events against Western Illinois, taking the 200-yard individual medley (1:57.41) and the 200-yard butterfly (1:55.95). He also helped the 400-yard medley relay team take victory by over nine seconds over the runner-up (3:33.09).

In the final home meet of his career, Hare won the 100-yard freestyle (46.99) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:00.33) against Valparaiso.

Adam Jajtner

Jr., Port Washington, Wis.

Jajtner turned in a season-best mark of 10:11.90 in the 1000-yard freestyle, earning second-place in the event. He was also runner-up in the 500-yard freestyle with another season-best time of 4:53.06.

Kurtis Malone

Against UIC, Malone finished second on the one-meter board with a score of 248.50, the third-highest mark in school history. He also posted 194.85 on the three-meter, and swam on Valpo's 200-yard freestyle relay team.

Katie Bellew

Jr., Talassee, Ala.

Bellew posted a season-best time in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.32), which was good for first-place. She also won the 100-yard butterfly (1:00.98) and swam on the winning 200-yard medley relay team.

Trisha Simon

Sr., Brunswick, Ohio

Simon had a gutsy runner-up performance, diving on a sprained ankle, but scoring 122.03 on the one-meter board against Niagara.

Danielle DeGrand

Jr., Green Bay, Wis.

DeGrand excelled in two dual meets last week, winning four individual events and participating on two winning relays. She won the 100-yard backstroke against Illinois State (59.18) and against Western Illinois (59.42), while also taking the 200-yard backstroke (2:07.72) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:10.87) against ISU.

Molly Finn

Finn led the Panthers to victory over Western Illinois, winning the 200-yard individual medley (2:12.53) and the 200-yard butterfly (2:10.00) before helping the 400-yard freestyle relay team to an 11-second victory (3:39.36).

Lauren Roy
Milwaukee
Fr., Plymouth, Minn.

Roy posted the first two victories of her collegiate career by sweeping the diving events against Western Illinois. She scored 211.65 on the one-meter board, and 240.34 in the three-meter event to secure the two wins.

Sonia Peterson

Peterson won the one-meter event (230.10) and the three-meter dive (254.10) against Valparaiso.

Amy Andracki

Fr., Arlington Heights, Ill.

Andracki broke Valpo's 17-year old 100-yard breaststroke school record with a time of 1:06.25, winning the event by more than three seconds against UIC. She was also a member of the Crusaders winning 200-yard medley relay team (1:52.70), and she finished third in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:19.03.

Anna Orwick

Orwick finished third on the one-meter board against UIC with a score of 185.85.

Krystyna Wieczerzak

Wieczerzak won three events against Xavier, posting a time of 1:55.27 in the 200-yard freestyle before swimming to victory in the 200-yard backstroke (2:08.48) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:12.78). She also helped the `B' 200-yard medley relay team to second place.

Olivia Arnold

Jr., Rutherglen, Australia

Arnold broke her own school record in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:38.91, which was good for second-place. She also posted wins in the 200-yard individual medley (2:16.89) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:16.09).
