MALE SWIMMER OF THE WEEK

Jakub Dobies
Cleveland State
Sophomore
Plock, Poland



Dobies won four individual events in four attempts last week. He began by taking both the 100 and 200 freestyle events at the City College Meet, and ended the week with three victories against Notre Dame. He won the 100-yard breaststroke (56.90), the 200-yard breaststroke (2:06.60), and led off the winning 200 freestyle relay.

FEMALE SWIMMER OF THE WEEK

Hashoian set her third school record this season, this time in the 500-yard freestyle at Saint Louis. Her time of 5:05.90 was two seconds faster than the former record. Hashoian also won the 200-yard freestyle (1:56.52), and now has school records in the 500, 1000, and 1650-yard freestyle events.

MALE DIVER OF THE WEEK

Oleynik had a banner day for UIC as he won both the three-meter and the one-meter at Saint Louis. He won the three-meter with a score of 256.90 and the one-meter with a lifetime-best score of 310.90.

Peterson placed second in the one-meter dive at Saint Louis with a score of 236.60. She also recorded a personal-best score of 245.65 in the three-meter event, as she earned third-place.

Baiko won both boards at the City College Meet, and then took fifth-place in each event in a dual meet at Notre Dame.

Evan Dunn
UIC
Fr., Edmond, Okla.

Dunn won two individual events against Saint Louis, taking the 500-yard freestyle (4:48.02) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:14.91). He also swam the breaststroke leg of the victorious 400-yard medley relay (3:33.04).

Kurtis Malone
Valparaiso
Fr., Pekin, Ill.

Malone finished in third-place in a pair of one-meter competitions with scores of 172.30 and 225.65 against Western Illinois.

David Sivak
Valparaiso
Fr., Hobart, Ind.

Sivak won three events for Valpo in the dual meet against Western Illinois. He gave a season-best effort in the 50-yard freestyle (21.85), placing him sixth all-time at Valpo. He also won the 100-yard freestyle (48.71) and was a member of the victorious 400-yard freestyle relay team.

Lesley Jones

Sr., Mentor, Ohio

Jones earned two victories in the four-team City College Classic. She captured the 50-yard freestyle (25.18) and the 100-yard freestyle (54.44) as she rallied in the last lap to win by .01. She was also a part of the 200-yard freestyle relay team that took runner-up honors.

Simon captured the one-meter event at the City College Classic with a score of 213.65.

Jaclyn Krause
Valparaiso
So., Rochester, Mich.

Krause won a pair of events against Western Illinois while capturing second-place in another. She won the 100-yard freestyle with a season-best time of 54.28, and helped the 400-yard freestyle relay team win by more than two seconds (3:41.21). She was runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle with a season-best mark of 2:00.42.

Anna Orwick
Valparaiso
So., Broadlands, Ill.

Orwick finished second in the one-meter event against Western Illinois with a score of 127.65 and third in the second one-meter event (188.65).

Olivia Arnold
Youngstown State
Jr., Rutherglen, Australia

Arnold broke the school record in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:48.69 at the Crimson Hawk Invitational. She won that event, and finished second in the 500-yard freestyle (5:16.33) and the 400-yard individual medley (4:46.39). Arnold also added a third-place effort in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:35.14). All four of her times were season-best marks.
