Horizon League basketball fans have known the name Keifer Sykes for the last few years. Listed at 5-11, Sykes has always entertained with his high-flying abilities.
On Sunday, the nation finally took notice, as Sykes' two dunks late in Green Bay's 69-64 win at UIC helped clinch the game. Sykes' first dunk, off an alley-opp, tied the game in the waning minutes, while his breakaway dunk sealed the game.
The win was Green Bay's 10th straight, the program's best since the 1995-96 season. The preseason favorite in the Horizon League, the Phoenix have jumped into the early lead atop the standings with a 5-0 mark.
A 2013 first team all-league pick and the runner-up for preseason player of the year this fall, Sykes has captured five Horizon League player of the week accolades this season, tying the conference's record. Sykes was previously profiled by both Cam Fuller and Kyle Binder, but it was Sunday's late-game performance that drew rave reviews around the country:

Green Bay's games can be watched via the Horizon League Network when the Phoenix are not on national television. The Phoenix' next game is Wednesday, Jan. 22, when Oakland visits the Resch Center.
