Horizon League Men's Player of the Week
James Low, Butler, Sophomore, Ottawa, Ontario
Low polished off the Bulldogs undefeated Horizon League regular season by winning a combined four matches over the weekend, as Butler posted 7-0 wins at both Cleveland State and Youngstown State. Low topped CSU's Eric Winn, 6-4, 6-3, and YSU's Tom Berth, 7-5, 6-2, at the No. 1 singles spot and combined with junior Andy Bartish for a pair of wins at the top doubles position. Earlier in the week, Low won two matches against in-state rival Valparaiso in a non-league contest.
Horizon League Women's Player of the Week
Corey Steven, UIC, Junior, Wichita, Kan.
Steven went 3-0 in singles action and 3-0 in doubles play over the weekend to help UIC wrap up the top seed for the upcoming weekend's Horizon League Championship. The Wichita native won all three of her singles matches in straight sets, including a vital victory over Youngstown State's Heather Hagood and a win at No. 2 singles over Cleveland State's Jenn Myers, to improve her Horizon League record to 7-0 on the season, extending her team-best active career winning streak in Horizon League dual match singles play to 24 matches.

Ivan Kovalev, UIC, Junior, Almaty Kazakhstan
Kovalev extended his winning streak to six matches and tied for the second-most victories in a single season in UIC history with his 18th win against UW-Green Bay's Jarett Cascino by a 6-1, 6-2 count. Kovalev also teamed with Andy Lockhart for a crucial 8-5 doubles win over Cascino and Tim Prudlow. Kovalev won for the tenth time in his last 11 matches and went 5-0 at No. 1 singles in Horizon League play.
Mark Goldin, UW-Green Bay, Freshman, Bayside, Wis.
In a meeting of two of the League's top freshmen, Goldin swept UIC's Eric Fey, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 5 singles Friday afternoon. Goldin also teamed with sophomore Mat Weiss to earn a 9-7 victory at No. 2 doubles against the Flames.
Craig Smith, Wright State, Sophomore, Pickerington, Ohio
Smith won his singles match with Brian Meek of Youngstown State, 6-1, 6-0, as the second seed in the 5-2 Raiders win over the Penguins. Smith also won in doubles paired with Quincy Jones over Meek and Scott Kathery, 8-5.

Tayo Bailey, Butler, Junior, Chicago, Ill.
Bailey stretched her singles winning streak to 11 matches with a pair of convincing wins at the No. 2 singles spot over Horizon League opponents last weekend. Bailey downed Cleveland State's Jen Myers, 6-2, 6-4, Saturday before defeating Youngstown State's Whitney Thomas, 6-1, 6-0, Sunday. Bailey also teamed with Shaden Dowiatt for a pair of wins at No. 2 doubles.
Holly Smith, Detroit, Freshman, Troy, Mich.M
Smith had a hand in two doubles victories, and a singles win as well, in last weekend's Horizon League tennis action. Teaming with Kaitlin McVehil, Smith helped Detroit to an 8-6 win over Wright State, and an 8-5 victory over UW-Milwaukee, in No. 2 doubles play, Smith also defeated UWM's Margie Van Lieshout, 6-1, 6-3, in No. 2 singles play as Detroit went on to defeat the Panthers.
Heather Harding, UW-Green Bay, Sophomore, Brokkfield, Wis.Harding returned to the No. 1 singles spot and earned a three sets victory over her Chicago State opponent Saturday, 2-6, 6-1, 6-1. Harding joined senior Amber Murdoch at No. 1 singles to post an 8-6 victory over the Cougars' top tandem.
Jessica Lee, Wright State, Sophomore, Canton, Ohio
Lee went 2-0 versus Detroit on Saturday as the number one seed in both singles and doubles. In singles, Lee defeated Bianca Savarino, 6-2, 6-0. In doubles, Lee paired with Tiffani Foster won over Andrea Buter and Savarino, 8-5.
Emily Thayer, Youngstown State, Freshman, Charleston, W. Va.
Thayer went 3-0 this past weekend for the Penguins. She sprained her ankle before her singles match against UIC and still fought off Christina Oum for a 7-5, 3-6, 6-1 victory. She has extended her streak to seven wins and has a 10-4 record at No. 6 singles this spring.
