Horizon League Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week

 

Lance Koetter 

Wright State, So. Cincinnati, Ohio

Koetter went 3-0 in top doubles team with Nick Camellari and was 1-1 in the top singles spot with a lead in the third match in the third set in a 2-1 weekend in Eastern Kentucky. Koetter defeated Vadzim Ivanis of EKU, 6-1, 6-2 on Friday and fell to Mark Fynn of UTC, 6-1, 6-0.  He was up 5-7, 6-3, 2-1 against MSU's Jacob McLead when the match ended.

Tayo Bailey

Butler, Sr., Chicago, Ill.

Bailey picked up wins at the No. 2 singles spot against Louisville and Bowling reen last weekend. She posted a 6-1, 6-3 victory against Louisville and a 7-5, 3-6, 6-1 win against Bowling Green in addition to pairing with Alaina Griffin to post an 8-1 victory against the Falcons.

Parker Ross

Butler, Sr., Libertyville, Ill.

Ross picked up a 7-6, 6-4 victory at No. 4 singles in Butler's match with DePaul, and he teamed with senior Brandon Gill to record an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles.  Ross dropped a three-set match at No. 4 singles at Purdue and an 8-5 decision at No. 1 doubles against the Boilermakers.

 

Tim Prudlow

UW-Green Bay, So., Elm Grove, Wis.

Prudlow led the Phoenix to victory in its spring season opener with wins at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles. In singles, Prudlow rallied after dropping the first set to Chicago State's Jonathan Sutjaidi, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1. Prudlow paired with junior Mat Weiss in doubles to post an 8-5 win over Dejan Avramovic and Abram Mamhit.

 

Olivier Dhaine

Cleveland State, Jr., Anger, France

Dhaine continued his dominant spring season this week, going 2-0 in singles and 1-1 in doubles.  He picked up a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles against Niagara on Feb. 3 and scored a 7-5, 7-5 win at No. 2 at St. Bonaventure on Feb. 4.  He also teamed up with Steven Wipprecht at No. 3 doubles against the Purple Eagles for an 8-5 win.  He is 3-0 at No. 2 singles since joining the Vikings in January.

 

Michelle Fuleky   

Youngstown State, So., Pickerington, Ohio

Fuleky earned single match victories in the No. 6 spot against both Xavier and Dayton over the weekend.  She also paired with Whitney Thomas at the No. 3 spot to win the only doubles match for the Penguins against Xavier.  The pair also earned a win in the Penguin victory over Dayton.

 

Molly Smith                

UIC, Sr., Leawood, Kan.

Smith helped the Flames pick up a stellar 5-2 road win over Marquette this past Wednesday with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Robin Metzler at the fourth singles spot.

 

Jessica Lee     

Wright State, Jr. ,Canton, Ohio

Lee defeated Fernanda Chiaparini of Morehead State, 6-3, 6-1, in the number two position on Saturday to lead the Raiders to their first victory of the season.

 

Sarah Galon

Cleveland State, Jr., Waianae, Hawaii

Galon helped the Vikings to a pair of wins this week, going 2-1 at both No.1 singles and No. 1 doubles.  She scored a 6-1, 6-2 win over Akron on Feb. 2 before recording a 7-5, 6-2 victory at Niagara.  At doubles, she teamed up with Morgan Ungerott to record wins over Akron (8-1) and Niagara (8-6).
