Men's Tennis Player of the Week
Andy Bartish, Butler, Junior, Cincinnati, Ohio
Bartish won matches at No. 1 doubles and No. 2 singles Thursday afternoon as the Bulldogs scored a 6-1 win over Horizon League opponent Wright State. Butler's win broke a tie between the two teams for the top site in the League standings. Bartish defeated the Raiders' Lance Koetter, 6-2, 6-2, at the No. 2 singles spot after teaming with sophomore James Low for an 8-6 victory at the top doubles spot.

Women's Tennis Player of the Week
Melanie Humphrey, UIC, Junior, Harpenden Herts, England
Humphrey made a return from a badly sprained ankle to post two straight-set singles wins and a doubles victory. Humphrey downed Detroit's Amy Inman 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 4 spot on March 31 while teaming with Grace Gill-Morlis for a doubles win, then moved up to the No. 3 singles slot to defeat Sandra Rocha of defending Big West champion Long Beach State in a 6-0, 6-4 victory.

Other Top Men's Performers
Ivan Kovalev, UIC, Junior, Almaty, Kazakhstan
Kovalev won both of his No. 1 singles matches on the weekend in dominating fashion, defeating Cleveland State's Eric Winn by a 6-4, 6-1 count on April 2 and blanking IPFW's Landry Nzudie, 6-0, 6-0, on April 3. Kovalev has won five of his last six singles contests.

Scott Hayden, Wright State, Senior, Wilmington, Ohio
Hayden was succesfull against Butler as he posted a singles win over Tony Aker, 7-5, 6-1, and won the doubles match with Kevin Teufel, 8-5, over Mike Weaver and Adam Bordow on Thursday.

Other Top Women's Performers
Tayo Bailey, Butler, Junior, Chicago, Ill.
Bailey went 4-0 last week as Butler posted a pair of victories to creep above .500 overall on the season and remain perfect in Horizon League play. Bailey downed Wright State's Laura Calbertson, 6-0, 6-2, Tuesday at the No. 2 singles spot after teaming up with sophomore Shaden Dowiatt to post an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles. Saturday, Bailey won matches at No. 2 singles and doubles in the team's 6-1 win over in-state rival Evansville. Bailey surrendered just five games in her four sets of singles action last week.

Traci Litscher, UW-Milwaukee, Freshman, Eau Claire, Wis.
Litscher led the Panthers versus Youngstown State, scoring a win at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 1-6 (13-11), in the team's 6-1 loss. She has now won two-straight matches for Milwaukee, after picking up a 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (6) win at No. 6 singles against another league foe in Butler.

Audra Beckett, Wright State, Sophomore, Hamilton, Ohio
Beckett won both matches versus the University of Dayton on Monday with a 6-4, 6-1, won over Kate Mellion in singles play after winning with Laura Culbertson over Kara Metzger and Allysa Detroy, 8-6.

Gina Peretti, Youngstown State, Sophomore, Boardman, Ohio
Peretti continued to shine this week as she pulled off a tennis rarity against Duquesne, winning a Golden Set in her 6-0, 6-0 win over Andrea Sailer. A Golden Set is when a player wins a set without dropping a point (26 consecutive points). She remained perfect this weekend going 2-0 in League play at No. 4 singles. Against UWM, Peretti beat Shayna Illingworth, 6-0, 6-0 and against UWGB she won her match 6-0, 6-3. Peretti has a team-best 9-2 record this spring.
