GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Green Bay women’s basketball senior Kayla Tetschlag (Sheboygan, Wis.) has been selected to the Capital One Academic All-America Third Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Tetschlag is one of two players from District V to be selected to one of the three Academic All-America teams.
This is Tetschlag’s first selection to an Academic All-America team after being selected to the CoSIDA first-team Academic All-District team last season. While maintaining a 3.84 grade-point average, this season the Horizon League Preseason Player of the Year was named the December Horizon League Scholar Athlete of the Month.
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution.
Since the program’s inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors more than 15,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.

The Phoenix will wrap up regular-season play on the road at Wright State (17-10, 10-6 HL) Thursday, Mar. 3 at 7 p.m. followed by its regular-season finale on Saturday, Mar. 5 at Detroit (12-15, 6-10 HL) at 1 p.m. Green Bay will host its quarterfinal game of the Horizon League tournament Wednesday, Mar. 9 at 7 p.m. at the Kress Events Center.
