INDIANAPOLIS -- Green Bay junior Kayla Tetschlag has been named Horizon League Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the period of Feb. 15-21. The selection marks Tetschlag's fourth career weekly honor from the League office and her third this season.
Tetschlag, a guard from Sheboygan, Wis., averaged 19.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals in a pair of Horizon League victories last week. She knocked down 13-of-16 (.813) from the field, 2-of-3 (.667) from beyond the arc and 10-of-13 (.769) from the free-throw line.
Tetschlag tied a career high with 25 points and nine rebounds in Thursday's 64-45 win over UIC. She then managed 13 points and four steals in Saturday's 72-49 victory over Loyola.
Tetschlag is averaging a team-best 15.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.4 steals through 25 affairs this season. She has connected on 55 percent from the floor and 82 percent from the charity stripe.
Green Bay improved to 22-3 overall, 11-3 in conference action and 12-0 at the Kress Events Center with its fourth straight win last week. The second-place Phoenix travels to Valparaiso on Thursday at 8:05 p.m. ET and Butler on Saturday at 2 p.m.
