Butler University graduate student Andy Baker and senior Kent Wories have been named second team Academic All-Americans by ESPN The Magazine and the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), while Youngstown State University graduate student Aaron Merrill has been selected to the third team.

Baker, who owns a 3.87 grade point average in business, is a two-time Cross Country All-American. He was named the Horizon League Cross Country Male Athlete of the Year in both 2007 and 2008, and was picked as the 2008 Horizon League Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year.

Wories, who owns a 3.94 grade point average in finance, picks up Academic All-America recognition for the second consecutive year, becoming Butler's first two-time Track/Cross Country Academic All-American. He was a third team Academic All-American a year ago.

Merrill, who owns a 3.77 grade point average in criminal justice, won the shot put and discus events at the 2009 Horizon League Outdoor Track & Field Championships. He joins Jarrod Davis as the only two Track Academic All-Americans in Youngstown State history.
