After months of preparation it is finally here....League play!
One would think that I'm a little late for the holiday season, but really, this is the time we all look forward to. This is a very unique part of the basketball season. No matter what you have done up to this point, win or lose, you are back to 0-0.
We as coaches can be the masters of spin. I know everyone talks about the White House and their "spinsters" but they have nothing on a coach once league play starts. There is always the slant that our non-league schedule was very difficult, and prepares us for the league.
There are so many different ways to try and remotivate a team. It is a fresh part to the year, but have you ever met a coach that is OK with losing? Ever?!? I know I like to win even if I am playing Scrabble!
That being said, each team in the Horizon League did start out 0-0, and it is anybody's championship.
