Women's Basketball Cruises to 61-47 Win Over NIU-- Box Score
CHICAGO – The UIC women’s basketball team (2-0) cruised to a 61-47 victory over Northern Illinois (1-1) Monday night at the UIC Pavilion. UIC, who has won six straight contests dating back to the 2014 Women’s Basketball Invitational, last started a season 2-0 in the 2011-12 campaign. The Flames have won five straight matchups with the Huskies.

UIC led by as many as 19 in the second half and held NIU to 28 percent shooting (15-of-54). The Flames have only allowed 28 baskets on 99 attempts (28 percent) this season. Read more

Oakland Falls at UCF, 98-65 --Box Score
ORLANDO, Fla. - Leah Somerfield scored a team-high 12 points off the bench as Oakland fell to UCF, 98-65, in women's basketball action Monday night at CFE Arena. The Golden Grizzlies fall to 0-2 on the season.

"You can't win by missing uncontested layups and jump shots," said coach Jeff Tungate. "You can't win giving up 22 offensive rebounds. You can't win sending a team to the foul line 34 times in the second half. You can't win guarding for 17 minutes to start a game and leading by six then finish the half giving up a 15-0 run. Green Bay Falls 68-64 in OT at Vanderbilt --Box Score
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Despite a ferocious rally after trailing by 16 points in the first half, the Green Bay women’s basketball team fell 68-64 in overtime to Vanderbilt on Monday night at Memorial Gymnasium.

Just two days after cruising to a 94-66 victory at Marquette to start the season, the Phoenix showed plenty of resiliency to take perennial NCAA tournament qualifier Vanderbilt from the Southeastern Conference to the wire. Read more
