INDIANAPOLIS -- UIC rolled past Loyola in Horizon League play, while Milwaukee collected a key in-state win over Wisconsin on Wednesday night.

UIC 3, Loyola 1
Two early goals sent UIC out to an early lead and the Flames rolled past intra-city rival Loyola, 3-1, at Flames Field.

UIC (5-5-2, 2-1-1 Horizon) jumped out front in the fifth minute behind Slobodan Aleksov, who picked up his first goal of the season off a combination from Kyle Lindberg and Jesus Torres.

Just 1:36 later, Aleksov tallied his second goal of the match, with Lindberg recording his second assist.

Taking a 2-0 lead into the half, the Flames once again got out to a quick start, with Josh Beard netting his first goal of the year 1:20 into the second half.

Jake Savino would put Loyola (1-7-2, 0-1-2 Horizon) on the board in the 59th minute, but the Ramblers could draw no closer.

Milwaukee 1, Wisconsin 0
Milwaukee knocked off Wisconsin for the first time since 2005, 1-0, in Madison, Wis.

Milwaukee (6-4-2) went to half against Wisconsin tied, but tallied the game-winning goal with 39minutes to play. Laurie Bell’s free kick went into the box, where Jamie Bladen picked up the loose ball and converted the goal.

Bladen’s goal snapped a 451:19 drought for the Panthers against Wisconsin.

Freshman Connor Revsbeck made his first collegiate start a memorable one, making five saves in the victory. Revsbeck, starting for the injured John Shakon, came up with a couple of spectacular stops to keep the clean sheet intact.

Michigan State 1, Detroit 0
Playing a man down, Detroit surrendered a late goal, falling to Michigan State, 1-0, at the DeMartin Soccer Complex.

Detroit (5-6-0) was on the attack early in the match as Adam Bedell ripped a shot on goal during the sixth minute of action, but Zach Bennett deflected the ball away from goal to spoil the early scoring chance. The Spartans then responded with two corners within 40 seconds of each other but Nathan Steinwascher was able to fight both of them off to keep the game scoreless.

Steinwascher then made another save in the 40th minute of the first half off a free kick to keep the game scoreless heading into halftime. Steinwascher made three saves in the first half, while the Spartans fired a total of six shots, three on net.

Michigan State matched its performance in the second half with six more shots, but it took until the 87th minute before the Spartans were able to get on the board. Ryan Thelen took the first shot on goal that Steinwascher was able to make the initial save, but Norman was able to put back the rebound to record the only goal of the game.
