INDIANAPOLIS - UIC sophomore Zach Van Swol has been named the Horizon League Men’s Swimmer of the Week while Flames teammate Mike Greco claims Diver of the Week laurels for the period of Dec. 14-Dec. 20.
Van Swol notched three first-place performances this past weekend in a dual meet victory over Western Illinois. The Frankfort, Ill., native produced winning times of 54.07, 1:56.98 and 4:42.82 in the 100- and 200-yard backstrokes and the 500 freestyle, respectively. Van Swol is honored with his first career weekly award.
Greco claimed the top podium spot off the three-meter board in UIC’s dual meet victory. The freshman standout recorded a score of 286.20 as he racks up his first Diver of the Week laurel.
