Chicago, Ill. - For the first time since 2001, UIC has found a home in the national rankings, as the Flames came in at No. 18 in the latest Soccer America magazine College Men's Top 25 list early Monday morning.

UIC earned the nod after extending its unbeaten start to the season this week. The Flames moved to 3-0-1 following wins over UMKC and Bradley and a scoreless draw with DePaul.

The Flames last garnered a national ranking of any type on October 15, 2001, when they came in at No. 24 in the NSCAA/adidas Top 25.

UIC had received votes in the College Soccer News and Soccer Times Top 25 polls last week following its road win over No. 25 Saint Louis on August 26th.

Other notable teams in the Soccer America rankings were the Billikens, who came in at No. 24 following a win over second-ranked Connecticut on Sunday, and UC Santa Barbara, who earned the 12th spot in the poll. The Gauchos (2-1-0) host the Flames this Friday.
