UIC 74, Butler 70
Chicago, Ill. - UIC defeated Butler 74-70 at the UIC Pavilion on Wednesday afternoon. The Flames remain in second place in the Horizon League with a 9-3 record and advance to 12-11 on the season. With the loss, the Bulldogs slip to 10-12 and 4-7 in League play. UIC shot 47 percent in the first period and entered the break with a 12 point (34-22) advantage. Butler fought back by adding 48 points and a 50 percent second-half shooting effort, but it was not enough as the Flames claimed their eighth consecutive win. Butler's Cortney Urquhart led all scorers with 20 points and chipped in seven rebounds for the contest. Jackie Closser added 14 points and six boards. UIC placed four players in the double-figures including Dejeanette Flournoy who tallied a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds. LaShonda Grant added 17 points for the Flames while Jacquay Holmes and Chrissy Dizon each recorded 16 points apiece.

Wright State 61, Youngstown State 51
Youngstown , Ohio - Wright State edged out Youngstown State 61-51 at the Beeghly Center on Wednesday evening. The Raiders currently stand in fourth place in the Horizon League with a 7-5 record, while the Penguins drop to 3-9 in League play. WSU concluded the first half with a 27-21 advantage and took control in the second period with a 16-point lead (51-35). YSU fired back to cut the deficit to four points (53-49), but could overcome the Raiders. Youngstown State out-rebounded Wright State 40-33 but was outshot 43-33 percent for the contest. Brittney Whiteside led the Raider attack with 13 points and eight rebounds while Michelle Holmes led YSU with 12 points. Jen Perugini tallied her 10th double-double of the year with 10 points and 10 boards.
