WILMINGTON, N.C.-Senior Cedrick Banks scored 21 of his season-high 24 points in the second half, leading UIC to a 76-67 triumph over UNC Wilmington on Sunday afternoon at Trask Coliseum. The victory was career win No. 134 for Flames headmaster Jimmy Collins, making him the program's all-time winningest coach, passing Bob Hallberg (1987-96). The Flames moved to 3-3 with the victory and have now won nine of their last 10 road games. Banks, who tallied his 10th-career half with 20 points or more, was 7-for-14 from the field in the second stanza, including five three-pointers. He led a three-point barrage that saw the Flames knock down a season-best 11 triples. Sophomore Jovan Stefanov chipped in with a career-high 16 points, going 3-for-3 from three-point land.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.-Eighth-ranked North Carolina (7-1) got off to a quick start, shooting 68 percent from the field in the first half, en route to a 109-60 victory over Loyola (2-6) Sunday night at the Smith Center. Loyola was within a point early at 7-6 before Carolina went on an 18-3 run to open up a 25-9 lead with 12:31 left in the opening period. The Tar Heels shot 68 percent from the field, hitting 6 of 10 shots from three-point territory, to take a 63-36 lead at the half. The Ramblers never got closer than 26 in the second half and connected on only 27 percent of their tries from the field. Blake Schilb tallied 15 points, five rebounds and five assists to lead Loyola, while Dave Telander netted 12 points off the bench. Anthony Smith matched a career high by pouring in 11 points in only 15 minutes.
