INDIANAPOLIS - University of Illinois at Chicago freshman midfielder Ivan Stanisavljevic has been named Horizon League Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the period of Sept. 28-Oct. 4.

A native of Belgrade, Serbia, Stanisavljevic (pronounced stah-nee-SAVV-loe-vich) scored four goals in UIC's two matches last week, including a hat trick in the Flames' 3-1 victory over Wright State University Friday. After opening the scoring in the sixth minute, he netted the game-winner on a free kick in the 89th and added an insurance marker 42 seconds later on a breakaway shot from 35 yards out.

Stanisavljevic also scored on a penalty kick in UIC's 3-0 shutout of the University of Wisconsin Wednesday. For the week, four of his five shots found the back of the net.

UIC (3-2-4, 1-0-1 Horizon League) is riding a six-match unbeaten streak (3-0-3) and next plays host to #1-ranked University of Akron (9-0) Wednesday at Flames Field. The Flames' next Horizon League match is Saturday at League-leading University of Wisconsin-Green Bay (8-1-2, 3-1).
