Western Illinois at UIC, ppd.

Chicago, Ill. - UIC must wait one more day to begin its run in the NCAA Tournament. The Flames' first-round match versus Western Illinois, scheduled for Friday night, was postponed 24 hours due to storms which rendered Flames Field unplayable. Torrential rains hit the field for approximately four hours before the match was called off at 7:30 p.m. Central time, 30 minutes after the original kickoff time.

Grounds crews will work through the night to remove standing water from the field. The match has been re-scheduled for 7 p.m. (local time / 8 p.m. Eastern) on the UIC campus.

UIC (12-2-5) makes its first NCAA appearance since 2000 after winning the Horizon League regular-season title (5-1-1 in loop play) and defeating a pair of top-25 teams on the road this fall. Western Illinois (15-7-0) won the Mid-Continent Conference title for the third year in a row.
