INDIANAPOLIS - University of Illinois at Chicago sophomore forward Kevin Stoll has been named Horizon League Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the period of Oct. 27-Nov. 2. It marks the first time in Stoll's career that he has captured the award.

Stoll, a native of Florissant, Mo., contributed to all four of UIC's goals last week to lead the Flames to a 2-0-0 week. He had a pair of assists in UIC's 2-1 win over Valparaiso University on Halloween, then scored a goal and handed out an assist in a 2-1 win over Loyola University Chicago Sunday evening.

The victory over Loyola gave the 11th-ranked Flames (12-2-4, 6-1-1 HL) 19 points in the conference standings, clinching the regular season title and No. 1 seed in the U.S. Army Horizon League Men's Soccer Championship.

For the week, Stoll totaled five points (1g, 3a) with three shots, two coming on goal. He now has five goals and five assists on the season and he has either scored or assisted on five of UIC's last six tallies.

Stoll and UIC will have 11 days to prepare for the Horizon League tournament, as the Flames will host a semifinal match Friday, Nov. 14 against one of four teams at Flames Field.

The U.S. Army Horizon League Men's Soccer Championship begins Thursday with three matches. No. 6 Wright State University hosts No. 7 University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee at 7 p.m. ET while No. 4 University of Wisconsin-Green Bay welcomes No. 9 University of Detroit Mercy and No. 5 Loyola hosts No. 8 Valparaiso University. Those two contests will kick off at 8 p.m. ET.
