GREEN BAY- UW-Green rallied from an early second-half deficit to stay perfect on its home court this season with a 72-66 win over North Dakota State in the Oneida Bingo & Casino Classic opening round. The win boosts the Phoenix to 6-3 overall this season, including a 4-0 mark at the Resch Center. The visiting Bison led at the half, 36-35, and scored five quick points to open the second half with their largest lead of the game, 41-36. The Phoenix answered with an 8-0 run to take a 43-41 lead with 15:51 left to play. After NDSU regained a two-point edge, Green Bay sophomore Josh Lawrence answered with the first of his two second-half three-point field goals and the Phoenix would not trail again. North Dakota State trimmed the deficit to two, 61-59, with 3:12 remaining, but back-to-back Green Bay three-pointers by Javier Mendiburu and Lawrence built the lead back to eight in the final minute to hold on for the win. Lawrence led all scorers with 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting. Brandon Morris scored 15 points and added seven rebounds and three steals in his season debut.

YOUNGSTOWN-Youngstown State saw a three-point second-half lead turn into a double-digit deficit as the Saint Francis Red Flash used a 13-0 run en route to a 70-56 victory on Wednesday night at the Beeghly Center. The Penguins hit eight of their first 12 shots and outscored the Red Flash 17-7 over the first 10 1/2 minutes of the second half to take a 42-39 lead, but they then missed their next 11 shots as SFU built a 56-43 advantage with 5:58 remaining. A jumper by Winston Robinson with 17:34 remaining in the second half put the Red Flash up 34-27, Youngstown State hit seven straight shots to take a 42-39 lead with 12:20 remaining in regulation. Zach Silverman's free throw put the Penguins ahead 43-41 at the 10:07 mark, but the Red Flash scored 13 straight points as part of a 23-5 run to take a 64-48 lead with 3:05 remaining. Rashaan Benton hit two free throws with 9:42 remaining to tie the score and spark the run as SFU made its final nine field goals of the game to improve to 6-4. Brian Radakovich finished with a double-double, tallying 14 points and 10 rebounds, to lead the Penguins, while Quin Humphrey also had 14 points.

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.- Loyola (2-9) gave a gritty effort, but failed to convert a pair of layups that would have tied the game in the waning seconds, as Central Michigan (5-4) hung on for a 73-69 victory Wednesday night at Rose Arena. With the loss, the Ramblers have stumbled in their last eight contests. Loyola had three cracks at tying the game or taking the lead in the final minute but the Ramblers missed a layup, a three-pointer and another layup, and Tony Bowne converted all four of his charity tosses to seal the victory for CMU. Blake Schilb topped the 20-point mark for the second consecutive contest, this time dropping in 21 points, while adding six rebounds and five assists. Majak Kou reached double figures in scoring off the bench for the second straight outing, pouring in 16 points. Central Michigan was paced by 14 points from Bowne, 11 of which came in the second half.
