UW-Green Bay Women's Soccer Team Named the Brian Ziegelbauer Memorial Youth Volunteer of the Year

Green Bay, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay women's soccer team was recently named the 2006 Brian Ziegelbauer Memorial Youth Volunteer of the Year by the Northeastern Area of Special Olympics Wisconsin.

Over the past 15 years, the women's soccer team has assisted in every aspect of the Northeastern Area's annual soccer tournament held at Ashwaubenon High School in the spring. Players serve as officials, timers and scorekeepers for the day-long tournament as well as assist with the awards presentation.

The Brian Ziegelbauer Memorial Youth Volunteer of the Year award is named after Brian Ziegelbauer, a volunteer and fundraiser for Special Olympics in Northeastern Wisconsin who died at the age of 19.
