Matt Rohde of UW-Green Bay has been named the Horizon League Player of the Week for Jan. 31.


Rohde, a senior guard, averaged 22 points per game -- more than double his average heading into the week -- as the Phoenix moved within a half game of first place with wins over Detroit (60-54) and League-leading UW-Milwaukee (76-72).


He poured in a season-high 27 points in the win at Detroit Jan. 26, including 18 in a 12-minute span in the second half. In a showdown of the League's top two teams Jan. 29, he had 17 points and three assists as Green Bay edged UW-Milwaukee.


For the week, the Weyauwega, Wis., native shot 57 percent from the field (13-of-23) , including 50 percent from the three-point line (6-of-12), and 86 percent (12-of-14) from the free-throw line.

Other Top Horizon League Performers - Jan. 31

Rocky Collum
UIC, Junior, Guard, Racine, Wis.


Collum averaged 16.5 points, five assists and 2.5 steals per game while shooting 57 percent (12-of-21) from the field in leading UIC to a 1-1 week. He had a career-high 20 points and seven assists in a 73-49 win over Butler Jan. 29 after totalling 13 points and three assists in the Flames' 72-61 loss to Wright State Jan. 26. For the week, he was 8-of-15 (.533) from beyond the arc.

Brandon Cotton
Detroit, Sophomore, Guard, Detroit, Mich.


Cotton averaged 15.5 points, four rebounds and three assists per game in a 1-1 week for Detroit. He scored 19 points and tied his career bests with five assists and four rebounds as the Titans ended a three-game losing streak with a 73-59 victory over Loyola Jan. 29. Earlier in the week, he had 12 points and four rebounds in a 60-54 loss to UW-Green Bay.

Quin Humphrey
Youngstown State, Sophomore, Guard, Ellenwood, Ga.


Humphrey scored 20 points in Youngstown State's lone game of the week, a 71-50 loss at Loyola Jan. 26. Against the Ramblers, he shot 8-of-12 from the field, including 3-of-6 from three-point range, and added five rebounds, three steals, two assists and a blocked shot.

Raheem Moss
Cleveland State, Sophomore, Guard, Columbus, Ohio


Moss averaged 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, three assists and two steals per game as Cleveland State extended its winning streak to three with a pair of wins last week. He led the Vikings with 21 points in a 77-57 win over Butler Jan. 27. In a 67-53 win victory over Wright State Jan. 29, he scored 16 points, including seven straight that pushed CSU's lead to double digits with less than two minutes remaining.

Brandon Polk
Butler, Junior, Forward, Wichita, Kan.


Polk averaged 12.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game as Butler lost both its games last week. In a 77-57 loss at Cleveland State Jan. 27, he scored 20 points on 8-of-9 shooting and added a career-best three blocked shots. He finished the week with 10 points, three rebounds and a block in a 73-49 loss at UIC Jan. 29.

Anthony Smith
Loyola, Senior, Forward, St. Louis, Mo.


Smith averaged 12 points and four rebounds while shooting a robust 91 percent (10-of-11) from the field and 80 percent (4-of-5) from the free-throw line in Loyola's 1-1 week. He tied for the team lead with 14 points and five rebounds in a 71-50 win over Youngstown State Jan. 29, then came back with 10 points in a 73-59 loss to Detroit Jan. 29. Last week marked the first time the senior had scored in double figures in back-to-back games.

Adrian Tigert
UW-Milwaukee, Junior, Forward, Oshkosh, Wis.


Tigert averaged 13.5 points and 7.5 rebounds for UW-Milwaukee which split a pair of games last week. In the Panthers' 73-68 win at Purdue Jan. 26, he scored a team-high 17 points, connecting on 7-of-10 from the field. He then posted his third double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds in UWM's 76-72 loss at UW-Green Bay Jan. 29.

DaShaun Wood
Wright State, Sophomore, Guard, Detroit, Mich.


Wood averaged 19 points, four rebounds and three assists per game as Wright State went 1-1 last week. He scored 28 points on 10-of-17 shooting in a 72-61 victory over UIC Jan. 26 and then had 10 points, four rebounds and three assists in the Raiders' 67-53 loss at Cleveland State Jan. 29.
