UW-Milwaukee 71, Butler 68 (ot)


INDIANAPOLIS (AP)-Joah Tucker had 24 points and Adrian Tigert scored the tying basket at the end of regulation and then five of his 11 points in overtime as UW-Milwaukee rallied to a 71-68 victory over Butler on Thursday night.


Milwaukee (8-4, 2-1 Horizon League) trailed by six points with under three minutes left in regulation and by four after two free throws by Butler's Brandon Crone with 1:43 to go. But Tucker hit two free throws to cut Butler's lead to 59-57, then Tigert scored off an offensive rebound to tie the game and send it to overtime.


The Bulldogs (5-6, 0-1) never led in the extra period


A free throw by Chris Hill, a basket and free throw by Ed McCants and two free throws by Tigert put Milwaukee up 65-59, completing a 10-point run that put the game out of reach. The Panthers took their biggest lead at 70-62 with 45 seconds to go before Crone and A.J. Graves each hit two free throws and Graves scored on a layup.


Hill got the final free throw for Milwaukee with two seconds remaining.


McCants finished with 12 points. Graves led Butler with 19 points, while Brandon Polk added 16.

UW-Green Bay 78, Youngstown State 55


GREEN BAY (AP)-Senior guard Matt Rohde scored 16 points, raising his career total past the 1,000 mark, as UW-Green Bay defeated Youngstown State 78-55 Thursday night for its fourth straight win.


Rohde, who needed eight points to reach 1,000 entering the game, eclipsed the mark on a layup with 14:39 left in the second half. That began a run of nine straight points by Rohde that gave Green Bay a 63-39 lead with 12:54 to go.


Rohde left the game for good with 1,008 career points, the 18th player in school history to reach the milestone.


Green Bay (9-3, 2-0 in Horizon League play) shot 58 percent in the first half, including 6-of-10 from 3-point range, to take control.


The Phoenix finished 9-of-16 on 3-pointers.


Rohde hit all three of his 3-point tries and was one of four players in double figures for Green Bay. Post players Josh Lawrence and Tevah Morris scored 14 apiece, and Benito Flores added 11.


Quin Humphrey and Alex Sanchez scored 12 points apiece to lead Youngstown State, but the duo combined for just three points in the second half.


The Penguins (3-10, 1-3) lost for the 10th time in their last 11 games.

UIC 64, Loyola 58


CHICAGO (AP)-Armond Williams led a late UIC rally as the Flames lost an early lead, then came back for a 64-58 Horizon League victory over Loyola of Chicago Thursday night.


The Flames (6-7, 2-2) took an early 10-nothing lead as Loyola failed to score until Majak Kou hit a short jumper with 13:39 left.


Kou then scored 12 points for Loyola before intermission as the Ramblers (3-10, 1-2) took a 23-22 halftime lead.


The Flames dominated the early going in the second half and led 38-33 when Blake Schilb hit 11 straight points for Loyola, including three 3-pointers in a row. UIC managed only one free throw in that stretch, which ended with Loyola holding a 44-39 lead.


The Ramblers were up 50-41 with seven minutes left, when Williams led a 14-2 run that put UIC on top 55-52.


Schilb tied the game with another 3-pointer with 2:17 left, but Elliott Poole added a field goal and two free throws, while Jovan Stefanov put in a short jumper to give the Flames a 61-55 margin with less than a minute left.


Kou scored Loyola's final points on a 3-pointer with 26 seconds left, but the Flames padded the lead with three free throws in the closing seconds.


Williams finished with 14 points, while Stefanov had 13 to lead the Flames. Schilb had 19 for Loyola, with Kou adding 15.

Wright State 73, Cleveland State 57


DAYTON (AP)-Zach Williams scored 19 points and DaShaun Wood added 16 to lead Wright State to a 73-57 victory over Cleveland State on Thursday night.


Wright State (7-7, 2-1 Horizon League) led Cleveland State (3-7, 0-2) at halftime with a score of 40-25.


Drew Burleson added 12 points for Wright State.


Omari Westley led scoring for Cleveland State with 18 points and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds. The only other player for Cleveland State in double figures was Mike Redell with 15 points.


Wright State shot 53.8 percent from the field, while Cleveland State shot only 43.8 percent.


Cleveland State pulled within five points of Wright State at the 7:40 mark in the first half, but the Raiders went on a 10-0 run to push their lead to 30-15 with 3:34 left in the half.


Wright State never trailed, leading by as many as 21 points twice in the second half.
