GREEN BAY, Wis.--- After an offensive explosion in yesterday's quarterfinal match, it took 104 minutes for the UW-Milwaukee Panthers to defeat Butler, 1-0, and earn a spot in the title match of the Horizon League Women's Soccer Championship.

UW-Milwaukee senior Nicole Motl hit a one-timer of a Butler defender at the 104:01 mark to win the game for the Panthers. The goal was Motl's first of the season. Sophomore Claire Pignet picked up the assist.

Panther goalkeeper and First Team All-League selection Erin Kane recorded her 11th shutout of the season, tying the Horizon League record set by Michelle Lodyga of Notre Dame in 1991. Butler goalkeeper Kirby Zwickel had six saves on the match.

The match was the fourth overtime contest of the season for the Bulldogs, who ended the season at 8-10-2. Butler managed only three shots on the match, compared to 24 for the Panthers. The Bulldogs had no shots on goal.

The Panthers, 3-0-3 in six overtime matches this season, move on to face the winner of the Detroit/Loyola match-up, taking place at 6:30 p.m CT.

The 2005 Horizon League Women's Soccer Championship will be held Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 3-6, at Aldo Santaga Stadium on the campus of UW-Green Bay. The winner of Sunday's championship match will earn the League's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship which will begin Nov. 11 at campus sites.
