UW-Milwaukee 65, Youngstown State 42

YOUNGSTOWN-Boo Davis scored 13 points and UW-Milwaukee's defense shut down Youngstown State in a 65-42 victory on Wednesday.


The Penguins (3-12, 1-5 Horizon League) shot just 33.3 percent from the field and committed 23 turnovers. Brian Radakovich was the only Youngstown State player to reach double figures, scoring 10 points before leaving the game in the second half with an ankle injury.


Joah Tucker and Ed McCants scored 11 points apiece for the Panthers (10-4, 4-1), who shot 45.5 percent from the field and outrebounded the Penguins 35-33.


UW-Milwaukee jumped on Youngstown State early, scoring the first seven points of the game. The Panthers went on a 13-2 run to grab a 36-14 lead with 2:47 left in the first half.


McCants and Adrian Tigert had key 3-pointers during the run.


Chris Hill hit a jumper before halftime to give UW-Milwaukee a 41-18 lead at the break.


The Penguins shot 7-for-22 from the field in the first half and 15-of-45 overall in the game.


Youngstown State's leading scorer, Quin Humphrey finished with four points, his first game of the season with less than 10.
