UW-Milwaukee 79, Wright State 70
DAYTON, Ohio (AP) -- Ed McCants scored 24 points Wednesday night and Boo Davis started a late run that sent UW-Milwaukee to a 79-70 victory over Wright State.
UW-Milwaukee (16-5, 9-2 Horizon) blew a 15-point lead in the second half before rallying for its second win of the season over Wright State (10-11, 5-5).
McCants scored 17 points in the first half, when UW-Milwaukee led by as many as 11. He opened the second half with a pair of free throws, and three consecutive baskets by Joah Tucker made it 53-38, the biggest lead of the game.
A couple of baskets by Everett Spencer started a 16-3 run that put Wright State ahead 60-58 with 6:43 to go. McCants was fouled while shooting a 3-pointer and hit all of the free throws, then made a jumper as UW-Milwaukee went ahead to stay.
Davis' 3-pointer started an eight-point run that pushed the lead to 77-66 with 42 seconds left. Davis finished with 13 points, and Tucker had 16.
Zach Williams led Wright State with 17 points and eight rebounds.
McCants scored 22 points and UW-Milwaukee rallied from an 11-point deficit in the second half to beat Wright State 71-66 on Jan. 17.
