MILWAUKEE - With each passing week Antou Jallow's trophy case becomes more and more complete. The senior forward on the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's soccer team added to his long-list of awards when he was named an ESPN Academic All-America First-Team selection here Tuesday (Nov. 23). The honor is the highest academic honor possible in Division I men's soccer.

Jallow, who boasts a 3.83 grade point average while majoring in marketing at UWM, becomes the program's first-ever first-team academic all-america selection. The Uppsala, Sweden native was earlier named a first-team academic all-district selection following his second-team all-america selection in 2003.

Jallow is the only Horizon League member on the first-team as well as the only player from his district on the 11-player squad.

"I think this is a well deserved award," UWM head coach Louis Bennett said. "It's a super combination when you can have such a great player and such a super student. Antou has worked extremely hard for this individual honor and what's really nice about a person like Antou is that he knows it's his team and program that has got him where he is today."

Jallow has 17 goals on the season and is already the school's and Horizon League's all-time leading goal scorer with 59 career goals. The Horizon League Player of the Year in both 2002 and 2004, Jallow owns UWM's single-season goal record with 24 in 2002 while sitting second on the school's all-time points scored list with 131.

Jallow and his teammates return to action tonight in an NCAA Tournament Second Round game at No. 1 UC Santa Barbara. Gametime is set for 9:00 p.m. at Harder Stadium.
