The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's basketball team will play No. 16 Michigan State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Saturday in Chicago.

UWM (22-8) drew the No. 13 seed and will face fourth-seeded MSU (22-9) for the right to take on the winner of Kentucky and Chattanooga in the second round Monday.

The game will be played at 12 p.m. Eastern time (11 a.m. Central) and be carried live in ESPN2 from the Allstate Arena.

The Spartans are the defending national runners-up and finished third in the Big Ten standings this season. They fell in the semifinals of the conference tournament to second-ranked Ohio State.

The top-seeded Panthers won the Horizon League Tournament championship with a 71-63 victory over UIC in the league title game March 6. UWM has set school records with 22 wins this season and the 12-game winning streak it carries into the NCAA Tournament.
