Milwaukee, Wis. - Ed McCants of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee will be one of the participants in the 17th Annual Mountain Dew College Slam Dunk Contest in Saint Louis.

 

The contest will be held Thursday night in conjunction with the Final Four. The event, along with a three-point shooting contest, is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Washington University Fieldhouse.

 

McCants was the Horizon League Player of the Year this season while leading UWM into the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. He ranked third in the league in scoring while standing first in three-point field goals made, 11th in steals and eighth in three-point field goal percentage. He also ranked in the top 15 nationally in three-point field goals made.

 

McCants posted a number of stellar outings throughout the year, including a 38-point effort against Detroit. Including his three NCAA Tournament outings, he finished his career by scoring in double figures in 24-straight games and has passed 20 points in 12 of those games. He also made a three-point basket in every game this season and led the Panthers in scoring 14 times.

 

Joining McCants in the event are Wesley Duke of Mercer, Joey Graham of Oklahoma State, Chuck Hayes of Kentucky, Mindaugas Ketelynas of Tennessee-Chattanooga, Rawle Marshall of Oakland and Daniel McGaffney of West Virginia Tech.
