INDIANAPOLIS -- University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee junior Lindsay Caldwell has entered the national rankings in two events, according to collegeswimming.com.

Her time of 23.48 in the 50 freestyle currently ranks in a tie for 53rd in NCAA Division I swimming, while her 50.58 mark in the 100 free stands at No. 44. University of Hawai'i at Manoa sophomore Melanie Schlanger owns the top times in both categories, with a 22.36 mark in the 50 free and a 100 free time of 47.94, nearly seven-tenths of a second faster than the second-ranked time of 48.60 by Lacey Nymeyer of the University of Arizona.

Caldwell recorded the times at the Wheaton Invitational earlier this month, earning wins and NCAA "B" cuts in both events. The marks also set meet and school records. Caldwell also won the 100 breaststroke and was a part of four winning relay teams as the Panthers won their third Wheaton Invitational title.

In addition to her times in the 50 and 100 free, the West Bend, Wisconsin native currently leads the Horizon League in the 200 free (1:52.22) and 100 breaststroke (1:05.55). She has also earned Swimmer of the Week honors twice this season, Nov. 21 and Dec. 7.

Led by Caldwell, the Panthers are currently ranked 15th (219.53 points) in the Division I-Mid Major power rankings compiled by collegeswimming.com. The Panthers trail the leader - the University of Denver - by 13.2 points. UW-Milwaukee's men's team is also ranked, coming in 8th behind Missouri State University.

Both the men's and women's teams will be idle until Jan.. 4, when they will compete at the Time Trial 100's in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
