INDIANAPOLIS – Milwaukee senior outfielder Sam Koenig (Prairie du Sac, Wis.) has been named the Horizon League Batter of the Week, while UIC left-hander Jake Dahlberg (Vancouver, Wash.) is the League’s Pitcher of the Week, for the week of March 23-29. The accolades are the second of the season for both players.

Koenig swung a hot bat last week as he hit .600 in a shortened weekend series against Oakland. He went 6-for-10 against the Golden Grizzlies with a double, triple and home run for a 1.200 slugging percentage. He scored six runs and recorded five RBIs as the Panthers split Saturday’s doubleheader with Oakland.

Dahlberg pitched his second complete game of the season, allowing just two hits and one run in UIC’s 2-1 series-opening win over Youngstown State on Friday. Dahlberg gave up lone hits in the first and eighth innings and now touts a 3-1 record on the season. He also struck out four YSU batters and leads UIC with 31 punch-outs on the year.
